While browsing, you must came across some sites which have only ads in the first fold with very less content. They are called MFA (Made for Adsense) Sites.
The main funda of MFA is that its mainly automatically updated site with high paying keywords. The site grabs content from other sites using RSS feed (easy content, lol..).
The main source of traffic for this kind of sites is other PPC Advertisements like Adwords. They advertise the site with very low Pay Per Click amount and convert them using high paying keyword in their site. This is also called arbitrage.
Lets make a small calculation. If the MFA has keywords like “mesothelioma” or “remortgage” they will easily get $1 to $5 per click, now, if they spend average of $25 daily in adwords with a cost per click of $0.05 they will get 500 visitors daily. And even if only 10% of the visitors clicks on the ads, they will get minimum of $50, which means $25 net profit.
The ads are placed in a way that visitors will click on them to leave the site immediately. So, thats make it MFA.
Below is a screenshot of a typical MFA site. Take a look at how it cheats visitors. Theres a large rectangle at the first fold of the screen and only a few sentence keyword rich content to fetch relevant ads.
