Its from their Press Release:
When a member of LinkedIn’s IT community asks or answers a question within the Information Technology category of the “LinkedIn Answers” service, Kontera’s technology will analyze the content of the “Answers” section and then serve relevant Microsoft product links within a custom designed advertising unit.
Kontera was founded with the core objective of using technology to determine the true context of any web page in order to serve the most relevant advertising and information within the content. Kontera utilizes patent-pending text analysis technology to discover relevant keywords on a web page in real-time and automatically matches them to relevant information that shows upon user mouse-over. In keeping with the company’s vision, this specific implementation of Kontera’s technology provides contextually relevant information to LinkedIn’s IT community from Microsoft.
To see Kontera’s Microsoft implementation on LinkedIn, login to LinkedIn and click on the “Answers” tab. Within “Answers”, in the browse box on the right, click on the ‘Technology’ link and then on the ‘Information Technology’ link.
“When we founded Kontera, it was clear to us that advertising was just one type of implementation for our contextual analysis technology,” said Yoav Shaham, CEO and founder, Kontera. “We are proud to serve as the technology enabler for a partnership with a technology leader like Microsoft and a new market innovator like LinkedIn.”
