How I lost my DigitalPoint Forum Account
Its probably the worst thing happened to me. I lost my Digital Point Forum Account for the reason for which I am NOT responsible.
On the evening of 4th March, 2009, I was browsing the forum and suddenly a notice came saying that my account is banned due to having a duplicate account. Believe me, I am not even aware any such thing can happen as I never ever had any duplicate account. And, why should I risk my account when I know having duplicate account is against DP Rules and I run quite a few popular sales thread.

I was having 8201 posts, a full house of green reputation and 157 iTrader count earned by hard work for last 3 years. Yes, I was a member there since last 3 years and I am well aware of the rules.
Its probably the Company I was working with. That is Rikhav Infotech. And the ID for which I am banned is rikhavinfotech (Can’t find it in Member List though). I never thought that working with another company can cost me my life as I am addicted to DP and earn my living from there. Its probably the PayPal ID (rikhavinfotech@aol.com) I was using to collect money from my clients. It’s the company’s PayPal as I was working on commission and was getting paid monthly.
The last month I earned only $103 where I was earning about $500+ per month from there. You can imagine how frustrated I am now.
As long as that company is concerned, they immediately terminated the contract with me and hired another member there for running their services for Link Building and SEO. Check my list of directories and his list, it’ll be clear.
I am now left with a great frustration and jobless atm. Don’t know whether this will change.
I am requesting to the Moderators at the DP Forum to consider my case with kindness.
My IP will surely be different from the ID which I am banned. The company is located at Mumbai, India and I am from Kolkata, India. Thats a point of proof for my innocence I guess.
I can try to produce some more proofs if chances given.

I know you from DP, you were a reputed member there. Sometimes things are not good but I am sure you will feel better as time passes. I can understand your feelings, DP is really a big community. SAD
There is not much use for asking the dp moderators as duplicate accounts are automatically detected using automated software’s. the best thing is dont allow others to log into dp using your system and dont log in from other systems which can in anyway have access to other dp members. I made the mistake once. But my account was a news one so I dont have any losses as you.
I think you should get in contact with them, If they have a phone number, or send them an email regarding your issues. I’m sure they will understand as i’ve had a similar experience and they sorted that out for me within a week of the email.
Very sorry about what you meet with your account. I worked on it too and my account get banned for some reason i don’t know.
You should contact with them or reached them on phone.

I do have the same problem. DP is very strict they do like that. But, for me they have banned fro six months not for a year.

Don’t worry about it. Digital Point moderators are a bunch of self absorbed kiddies who love to feel power and throw it around. There are more stolen scripts and warez and illegal sales going around to make the entire place a worthless experience. Do yourself a favor and go to more reputable forums. DP has deteriorated.
Just create a new account if you want to go back on DP, they did the same crap to me and I just created a new account and went from there.
The forum is crap now, full of scammers and newbie spammers.

As theme kid say’s you should probably open a new a/c. But I must suggest you to do it using a proxy or a VPN which provides you greater privacy. This way you can open a new a/c. Also change the paypal id.
Yeah, the forum is now full of crap and spammers, its not wat it used to be. Try to be member of better forums that are out now. If you have talent you shall make more……

My problem with DP is, Most of the time, I am not able to log into my own account. Do not understand why.
Its not you only, many members were facing that problem when I was a active member there.
Just check the box before “Remember Me” and it’ll be fine.

Abhik, I know these guys from rikhav infotech with a bunch of useless sites. These guys came to me for using my sites to post their client’s reviews.
I agreed to do a small test with them, and guess what the guy just disappeared. I think his name was ritesh, i donot exactly remember.
I know the feeling. I got banned for a month (am right now). Mod seems to think that informing people that they WILL have to give you server ID and pass to do webdesign is called Phishing (lol)
They don’t usually even bother to explain why you’re banned. Now I can’t log on to DP at all, is something going on there?
Abhik , what rules dp has for account sharing for example if 2 persons are sharing account and one use proxy and one login without proxy then will they ban him?
I can not find the link what rule about using proxy they have … just find ac sharing is not allowed or a sin
They will find it anyway and ban the account. You know, the mods there like to misuse their power.

i also got banned for the same reason , i am too sad for that,the problem was that me and ma cousin were using the sam pc for accesing DP and i think that is the point they banned both of us for the duplicate account reason.

I joined DP two weeks ago.. I already have almost 100 posts. And an infraction from the DigitalPoint Forums. But, I don’t think you should blame them for you getting banned. As you all have mentioned.. They are constantly being spammed.. Thats why you were banned, because they are trying to get rid of those scammers, they may have thought you were a spammer, since 2 people logged in from the same ip. DP does say that if you plan to come from the same IP, to notify them before hand.
If you didn’t.. They you can’t blame them for banning you. They have so many users to deal with.

dp is the most stupid forum i ever seen they only allowed white ppl to be exact USA ppl only to work there, they ban all foreigner all asian from earn a living there, I hope we all unite and boycott this stupid shawn until zeo come to them until then they will think hard

Well it happens to me too. I lost my account with 600 plus posts and more than 40* itrader and I lost hope coz everytime the banned lift up they banned it again saying I got a duplicate account which is not true obcourse and its really bad to note that loads of people getting banned from it

The mods at DP can be very unfair. When my son turned 18, he decided to try making some extra money by writing articles. I’d been a member of DP for some time when he joined. I honestly didn’t even think about the duplicate account rule when he joined under his own user ID. It didn’t take long for them to ban both of us since we were using the same internet access.
I panicked and got my brother who is also a member to message a mod and tell them what happened. The mod did take care of the problem and told my brother that it was fine for me and my son to both have accounts as long as they knew about it.
When I got banned I was devastated, I actually thought I couldn’t live without the resources for jobs at DP and was in a big panic. After the mod “fixed” the situation and I could get back on DP I was so happy and relieved.
Well, everything was fine, until my son got some extra time and decided to check for some jobs on DP. As soon as he logged in BOOM we were both banned again. The first time the ban was for 30 days, the second time it was for 3 months. I was so pissed the second time that I didn’t even care that they’d banned me.
Evidently, the mods at DP don’t communicate with each other. Seems like there could be something that they can do to inform all of the other mods that even though it’s the same IP address, it’s two different people. One of the things that frustrated me most was the fact that there was no way to get in touch with a mod to even try to resolve the problem. And, they don’t allow you any form of defense.
Same thing here. I did receive an email saying I’m banned for duplicate account. and know for a fact that I don’t have another one. Oh well…Who cares??
Can someone suggest me some forum of DP kind…??
I have same Issue, I has Only one account there and having 10+ iTraders but the next day When I tried to login it told me you are banned and the reason is “NOT WELCOME”. what does it mean??
So I Again Made another account from a different Net-Connection(IP) and there also I have good reputation as I always helped Hundreds of users and never Break The rules of DP but do you know some bastard members by Jealously Giving me continuously Absurd Infractions Which means When IT will Reach to 10 I will go ban from the site. When The DP’s whole system is Automatic then why the Admin, appointed those crap moderators. They even don’t bother to reply my queries. Friend Is there any solution to protest against it?
That Forum is Renowned by us, if we the webmasters of the marketers were not there then DP won’t be popular. So One Request to all can we all build a webmaster forum like DP, Ya i know it will not be popular within Night but we will make it popular.

I hope as of now you were able to contact them and fix you account. It’s really bad that it happened, you did a lot for your account.
My DP account got banned once. Apparently someone phished my account and got it banned by selling fake Adwords vouchers.
I got my account banned for the same reason. I’m working as a freelancer then I opened an account for them and my account got banned for 3 months! Really!
